The word of the day is…

ἀνήρ, ἀνδρός, ὁ

Classical Greek, anēr, andros, ho, 1. a man. While ἄνθρωπος refers to men as compared to gods or animals, ἀνήρ refers to men as compared to women, and evoked “traditionally masculine qualities”.1
